Offensive lineman Cedrick Poutasi (Las Vegas/Desert Pines) committed recently to Utah but will take one last official visit to a school that led early on in the process.
Poutasi took visits to Arizona State and Washington in addition to Utah and was considered a huge lean to the Utes for most of the season. One school who he was very high on early was Oregon. In fact, back in September, the lineman said if the Ducks offered a scholarship he would commit on the spot.
“That was a long time ago,” Poutasi said. “They waited so long to offer that I almost felt like a backup plan for a while there. I’m still excited about the visit and Oregon has a great program. I was excited when they did offer and I’m going to take this visit with an open mind and see how it goes.”
It will still take a lot for the Ducks to beat out Utah at this late stage.
“I feel really good about Utah,” Poutasi said. “They have been with me from the beginning and were one of my first offers. It’s like one big family there and I have a great relationship with the coaches and a lot of the players. Utah is definitely home for me but I want to take this visit to Oregon just to see what it’s like there.”
