Goforth gives ASU visit high marks

Athlete Randall Goforth (Long Beach Poly, Calif.) took his official visit to Arizona State over the weekend and said he’ll have a very tough decision to make.

Out of the five Poly players that committed to ASU earlier in the year, Goforth is the one Jackrabbit who has more options and didn’t seem like a lock to stay with his commitment. Following the visit over the weekend, the Sun Devils do appear to be the team to beat.

“It was a great visit,” Goforth said. “I had such a good time and love this new staff. Honestly, I like this staff better than the old one. This staff seems more hungry and a lot more structured than the old one. They have a plan in place and a goal to win a championship and I really liked what they had to say and show us.

“I talked with the players on the team and they said there is a major difference in the new staff already. They were saying they’re working harder in the weight room and the new staff is pushing them harder and is a lot more serious. I liked the old staff, they were pretty chill but this staff just seems more professional to me.”

Goforth said playing with his other four teammates, who all now look rock solid to ASU, is a factor in his decision.

“I feel a lot of stress right now,” Goforth said. “We all had a great time together, I think I probably got five hours of sleep the whole weekend. With my guys at ASU, of course I would love to play with them. At the same time, I know I need to do what’s best for me and those guys will support me either way.

“My trip to Washington last week was great too, I can’t even say which trip was more fun. I have UCLA this week and all three schools are recruiting me equally hard right now. I have so many things going on in my head right now and I just need to take a step back and try and figure out where the best spot for me is. Right now, it could be any of my final three schools.”

Goforth said ASU and UCLA are recruiting him as an athlete and Washington likes him for corner.
