Cleveland Wallace (San Jose, Calif./Oak Grove) is a longtime Oregon State commit but took an official visit to Boise State this past weekend. He also visited Washington two weeks ago.
“I wasn’t sure if I was going to visit Boise State, but I’m glad I did,” Wallace said. “It was pretty cool though, and I’m still trying to soak everything in. The players at Boise State were real cool and made me feel comfortable. That’s what stood out the most to me, just how well I got along with all the guys on the team.
“Boise is a cool college town and everyone is humble and friendly. The players all have a chip on their shoulder because of how they’re perceived and even though they win all the time, they don’t get a lot of respect and I think they thrive on that. I like Coach Pete [Chris Petersen] a lot and Boise State is definitely a good fit for me."
Was the visit enough to overtake the Beavers?
“I still think Oregon State is the best place for me right now,” Wallace said. “Boise State and Washington are right there behind them but I like Oregon State. I still have some thinking to do but I decided not to visit USC next week, and I plan to have a final decision made by the middle of next week.”
