Jeffrey Coprich (Stevenson Ranch, Calif./West Ranch) took an official visit to Cal over the weekend after visiting Hawaii last weekend. Before heading back home, the athlete committed to the Bears.
“I had a great time, I loved it there,” Coprich said. “I had a lot of fun with the players on the team and hanging out with other recruits that were there. I know Kam Jackson really well. Brenan Bigelow was my host and he was real cool, too. Cal is a great school, not just from a football standpoint, but academically and socially as well.
"It’s a great all around University and I felt very comfortable there and my family did as well. The facilities are incredible but getting that degree from Cal, man that is really going to be something. A degree from Cal can open up a lot of doors and that’s what I’m most excited about.”
Coprich is a talented athlete on both sides of the ball. He starred at both running back and defensive back and said he was recruited as an athlete by Cal.
“They said it’s up to me, I can choose running back or corner,” Coprich said. “It doesn’t really matter to me where I play, I like both sides but I’m probably start out at running back and see how that goes. It’s all about where I’ll be able to play the earliest so i’m sure I’ll work out at both spots and figure it out from there.
“I’m just really excited right now. Going in to the visit, I already knew I was going to commit. Cal is an incredible place and being in the Pac 12 is a really big deal to me. I liked Hawaii a lot, too, but Cal is closer to home obviously and my family can see me any time they want. It’s a great situation and I’m thrilled to be a Bear and be a part of the Cal Gang now.”
