Cormier's commitment keeps Arizona rolling

The Arizona Wildcats continued to fill out their 2013 recruiting class as four-star tailback Pierre Cormier (San Diego/Madison) announced his commitment on Wednesday via Twitter.

Cormier’s decision comes just one day after high school teammate Lawrence Walker committed to the Wildacts. Cormier and Walker returned Tuesday from an unofficial visit to Arizona.

As a junior, Cormier rushed for 1,471 yards and 20 touchdowns and averaged more than eight yards per carry. He also held offers from Boise State, Oregon State, Purdue, UCLA, Utah and Washington State, among others.

He is commit No. 24 for the Wildcats’ 2013 recruiting class and the 5-foot-9, 179-pound back has a chance to excel in the spread offense at Arizona, which is similar to what he runs in high school. He joins Zachary Green (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure) as running back commitments for the Wildcats and gives head coach Rich Rodriguez another victory in California. The Wildcats now have commitments from 11 Golden State prep standouts.
