Utah State adds in-state linebacker

Utah State added a big piece to its 2013 recruiting class this week as linebacker Kalei Kauhaahaa (Draper, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) committed to the Aggies.

The 5-foot-11, 210-pound inside linebacker was a challenging pull for Utah State, as he held an offer from Arizona and had interest from Boise State and Colorado, while his father is the defensive line coach at Utah.

Kauhaahaa said he chose the Aggies because he loves the location and believes he’ll be joined there by best friend and fellow linebacker Chasen Anderson (Logan, Utah/Logan). But above all, Utah State fans might have Kauhaahaa’s father to thank for his decision.

“He told me to go where I feel most comfortable,” Kauhaahaa said via text. “And that’s Utah State. I’m looking forward to being an Aggie.”
