Offensive tackle J.D. Hinnant and quarterback Chris d’Entremont have headlined the 2-1 start for the Fountain Valley (Calif.) football team, but the Barons have received a huge boost from the outside linebacker tandem of Sean Finley and Wyatt Christensen.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Finley already holds offers from Arizona, Nevada and South Dakota. He has already visited Arizona on an unofficial visit and said he would like to visit the Nevada campus sometime in October. Iowa and Iowa State have shown interest in Finley as well, and while most of his attention has come as an outside linebacker, he said the idea of playing H-back has been floated as well.
South Dakota is making a run at the duo, and while the 6-1, 207-pound Christensen is still waiting on his first offer, it might not be far off. Air Force, Colorado, Northern Arizona and San Diego State have also expressed interest.
Though he is a mainstay at outside linebacker and will likely play on that side of the ball at the next level, Christensen has been provided some big receptions as a wide receiver for the Barons this season. At this point, getting plays on either side of the ball on film is a priority for Christensen, as he missed most of his junior season due to a broken hip. He said schools have contacted him about playing outside and middle linebacker at the next level, while Air Force envisions him as a free safety.
