Washington has a huge recruiting weekend coming up and one player in attendance will be defensive back Brandon Beaver (Compton, Calif./Dominguez).
After a relatively slow start to his season, Beaver has played very well in recent weeks. He has three interceptions on the year including a pick six last week and will take his second official visit this weekend after already checking out Nebraska.
“I can’t wait, it’s going to be incredible,” Beaver said. “It’s a huge weekend against Oregon and there’s going to be a ton of top recruits planning to be up there. My teammates Lacy Westbrook, Alphonso Marsh and Damion Turpin are all coming and it’s going to be great to hang out with them and see what Washington is all about.”
Beaver actually gave a silent commitment to the Huskies back in the spring before backing off and keeping his recruitment open. He and Marsh are best friends and have talked openly about playing together in college, although the two have backed off a little from that now.
“We would love to play together, that would be a dream of ours,” Beaver said. “We’ve always said we’re a package deal but at the same time, we know we have to do what is best for ourselves. If that means going to the same school, then that’s great but if we each like a school different than the other, we’ll go our separate ways.
“In a perfect world, it would be great if all four of us can stay together. We’re all real close and enjoy playing with each other but Washington is the only school that we’re all looking at so who knows if that will happen. Right now, we’re just excited about this visit and I can’t wait to get out there.”
Beaver is also considering Arizona, Cal and UCLA along with the Huskers and Huskies.
