A decision on a commitment won't likely come soon from wide receiver Da'Mari Scott (Los Angeles/Cathedral), but the 6-foot, 197-pound receiver said after last Friday's game that he'll likely begin taking a closer look at his five scholarship offers -- Boston College, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada and San Diego State.
But with no clear leader, Scott said he will look to balance the task of narrowing down finalists while keeping his options open in case additional offers arrive. He said Oregon State, Vanderbilt and Washington State have expressed interest recently, while Washington remains a school that he would be very interested to hear from. Scott said he is doing his best to keep his focus on the season in the hopes of adding offers.
As for visits, he said Boston College and Nevada will likely receive officials, while he is keeping the other spots available.
"I'm trying to wait to see who offers," he said. "If no other offers come in, I'll take all my visits to the schools that have offered."
Scott has seven touchdown grabs this season, and while the Cathedral offense got off to a great start, it stalled mightily this past Friday, as the Phantoms were held to three points. Scott said afterward that he and his teammates would work to shake it off.
"We were having a great year and we just had a bad game," he said. "We have to keep working and come out next week and put on a show."
