TE Matt Bushman takes in Arizona win

Class of 2014 tight end Matt Bushman (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino) is plenty familiar with Arizona games, as he has been in attendance at nearly every Wildcats home game this season. But the 6-foot-5, 210-pound junior said the atmosphere at Saturday night's 52-17 victory against Washington had something extra.

"The crowd was pretty crazy last night," Bushman said. "The student section is always way into the game, but the players were really pumped up by it. They've been so close this year, but they showed they can compete against other Pac-12 teams."

Bushman's lone offer is from Utah at this point, but he said he has been in regular communication with coaches from Arizona State, BYU, California, Oregon State, Stanford and Washington. His relationship with the Arizona coaches builds with each game he attends.

"They're really friendly," Bushman said of Rich Rodriguez' staff. "They asked me to make a midseason highlight film. I just did that and sent it to them, so they could make a decision on an offer soon."

Bushman grew up watching the BYU Cougars, but said he has no preference when it comes to the schools recruiting him.

"Whatever teams are talking to me, I want to go see them," he said. "I'm open to anything."

Schools are beginning to approach Bushman in earnest thanks to a huge junior season. He has 31 receptions for 831 yards and nine touchdowns to go along with 35 tackles, four sacks and an interception for a Sabercats team that is 9-0 and has outscored its opponents 236-0 over the last four games.

Bushman said that while local trips to Arizona and Arizona State are likely through the remainder of the season, he doesn't anticipate being able to take any visits out of state this fall because of a presumed deep playoff run.
