The Wisconsin Badgers added commitment No. 19 in the 2013 recruiting class, as safety Tyler Foreman (Encino, Calif./Crespi) announced his commitment on Tuesday afternoon.
"I committed because I knew it would be a great fit for me," Foreman said.
Foreman narrowed his choices down to a final four -- Oklahoma, UCLA, Utah and Wisconsin -- but an official visit to see the Badgers in late October and a strong connection with linebackers coach Andy Buh sealed the deal for Wisconsin.
"It feels really good," Foreman said of making his verbal commitment public on Tuesday. "I'm just really happy that I've been able to have this process."
The big safety was called upon to play cornerback at times this season, and he said that while Wisconsin sees him mostly as a safety, he also could perform at cornerback on occasion. He finished his senior season with 39 tackles, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Foreman is the first recruit from the West region to commit to Wisconsin for this class, although the Badgers are in pursuit of several more California standouts, including athlete Darius Allensworth (Romoland, Calif./Heritage) and offensive tackle Sean Harlow (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente).
