In the past few days, the Idaho Vandals have added a new coach to go along with verbal commitment No. 5 for the 2013 recruiting class. Paul Petrino was hired on Monday and the first-time head coach at this level will have a big lineman to work with during the upcoming season, as offensive tackle Brett Thompson (Rupert, Idaho/Minico) announced his commitment.
"I went there and fell in love with the school. Everybody there including the coaching staff seemed really cool and down to earth," Thompson said.
The 6-foot-4, 310-pound senior said news of the coaching hire only locked him in more with the Vandals.
"I'm really excited about Paul Petrino and I think he's really going to step up the program," Thompson said.
Thompson is the second player from Idaho to commit to the Vandals and the third offensive lineman in the class.
