UCLA added another impact offensive linemen to its 2013 recruiting class on Friday night, as an in-home visit from Bruins offensive line coach Adrian Klemm locked in three-star tackle Alex Redmond (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos).
So why did he pick the Bruins?
"The mentality of how I am matched perfectly with what they want and need," Redmond said. "Also, my grandparents and family can come see me play."
The 6-foot-5, 302-pound linemen had been committed to Oregon, but announced his decommitment from the Ducks in mid-November. The Bruins are on a mission to add plenty of depth along the offensive line in this class, and with Klemm leading the way, have now received verbal commitments from seven high-quality linemen.
Redmond adds to a haul that includes ESPN 300 recruits Scott Quessenberry (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) and John Lopez (Orange, Calif./Lutheran), as well as offensive tackles Kenny Lacy (Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Pointe), Christian Morris (Memphis, Tenn./East), Sean Dowling (Fallbrook, Calif./Fallbrook) and Poasi Moala (Moreno Valley, Calif./Rancho Verde).
