Lakewood (Calif.) High School receiver Darius Powe has been pretty consistent with his leaderboard for the past few months, but a new school has emerged and will get a visit.
Oregon State, UCLA and Utah have been leading for Powe for the past few months. Michigan was involved as well and Powe had a visit set earlier in the year, but it appears the Wolverines have backed off somewhat.
Recently, Cal has moved back into the picture after not recruiting the receiver much since the summer.
“They have kind of been off and on,” Powe said. “They offered me last spring and recruited me pretty hard but then dropped off a bit when the season started. I’ve been talking to Ron Gould and he wants me to visit so I set up a trip for (Dec. 9)
“He’s also coming by later this week for a home visit. Oregon State will be by also and I had a great visit there. I’m also very interested in UCLA still and excited to see who they hire. Hopefully it’s a coach who likes to throw the ball a lot. I also have Utah set up for (Dec. 16) and that should be a great visit as well.”
Powe said he plans to announce his college choice at the Under Armour All-America Game on January 5.
