Long Beach Poly (Calif.) linebacker Matt Rowe committed to Arizona State last summer but always planned to take all five of his official visits. For that reason, Rowe said he’s not worried about where his recruitment is at in light of the recent firing of Dennis Erickson.
Rowe, a three-star prospect rated the No. 43 player in the state, said he wasn’t too surprised about Erickson being let go and is just taking everything in stride.
“This stuff happens, that’s why I always planned to take my visits,” Rowe said. “I still like ASU a lot and I’m going to wait and see who they hire and hopefully take a visit there. I plan on doing the same thing with UCLA. I was going to visit there and with the coaching change, it might be a better situation than it was before.
“I haven’t set up any of my official visits yet but now that our season is over, I’ll start to do that. Right now, I feel like I’m open to everyone, whoever wants to recruit me I’m going to listen. I’m going to wait on ASU and UCLA and I also like Washington and Nebraska. I’m just being patient and we’ll see what happens.”
