Wide out Michael Thomas (Elk Grove, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks) took a visit to UNLV back in December and on Monday, the athlete decided to pull the trigger.
Thomas took an official visit to UCLA in September and the Bruins offered a scholarship that was contingent on the receiver gaining academic admission.
“I didn’t know what was going on with UCLA and I got a real good vibe from UNLV,” Thomas said. “I had a good visit and it really seemed like I was a high priority for them and that meant a lot to me. I like the coaching staff and I think I’ll be able to get in there and be an impact player for them.
“I liked Idaho too and they offered but UNLV was definitely on top for me. UCLA is a great school and I loved my visit but I wasn’t sure if I would get cleared there and didn’t want to wait. Right now, I feel so relieved to have the decision out of the way and I’m excited to be going to UNLV. It’s a good fit for me and I think they’ll take care of me.”
Thomas had a solid senior season catching 32 balls for 387 yards and seven touchdowns.
