Offensive lineman Simon Goines (Keller, Texas./Central) took an official visit to UCLA last weekend and said he’ll be making a final decision on signing day.
Goines is a mammoth tackle prospect who committed to Missouri way back in July. After his visit to Westwood, there was some speculation that the lineman may have committed to the Bruins after changing his facebook page to list UCLA under education.
“I had a great visit but I didn’t commit anywhere,” Goines said. “I’m going to wait until signing day. no one is going to know what I’m doing until Feb. 1. UCLA was real cool and I connected well with the players and coaches. Torian White was my host and he was real cool but the highlight was hanging out with the other recruits there. We bonded pretty well.
“I’ve been to Southern California before. I play AAU basketball, so I go there every summer but this was my first time visiting UCLA and it was real nice. I have a real good relationship with the offensive line coach, Adrian Klemm as well. We go way back and he was recruiting me at SMU for a few years before he went to UCLA. He came in for a home visit last week and it went really well so I’m giving UCLA a hard look right now for sure.”
Goines said he wasn’t planning any other visits so this will likely be a Missouri-UCLA battle at this time.
