The recruitment of Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive back Brandon Beaver appeared to be winding down with a potential decision coming at the Army All-American game in early January.
Beaver already visited Washington, the early leader, and has Cal set up for the Bears big weekend (Dec. 9). Arizona State and UCLA were high on his list as well but with coaching changes going on there, the plan for Beaver was to announce at the Army game. That was before a heavyweight program out of the SEC got involved with Beaver a few weeks ago.
“Georgia is now recruiting me,” Beaver said. “I’m real interested in Georgia, the SEC is a big time confernce and that’s a big time school right now. I was very excited to hear from them. They started to recruit me about three weeks ago and recently offered me a scholarship.
“I don’t have a visit date locked in yet but we talked about going sometime in January so that’s what I’ll be doing. I was going to announce at the Army game, but that’s too soon and I want to take my time and think everything through. I’ll probably wait until Signing Day to announce now.”
