CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The days in Cortland are dwindling. The New York Jets are down to their final three open practices, starting Monday at 10 a.m. ET. A few storylines we'll be following:
The cornerback crisis. Rex Ryan will comment for the first time since it was announced that rookie Dexter McDougle tore an ACL. The Jets haven't provided a prognosis for Dee Milliner, who probably will be sidelined a few weeks with a high-ankle sprain. They're expected to sign a corner for depth purposes, presumably a younger player. It's slim pickings on the free-agent market. Suddenly, players like Darrin Walls and Ras-I Dowling are bumped up the depth chart.
Dimitri watch. Suddenly, journeyman corner Dimitri Patterson is a very important person in the grand scheme of things. Is he healthy enough to return to practice?
Fun and games. On Sunday, it was a "Dizzy Bats" relay between offensive and defensive rookies. What next, an egg toss?
