McShay Mock Draft 1.0: Bengals

A strong season so far for the 9-5 Bengals should result in a third consecutive trip to the playoffs. But can Cincinnati take the next step and win a playoff game? It will be on the shoulders of Andy Dalton, whose high floor but low ceiling was part of the concern with drafting him in the second round in 2011. Regardless, Cincinnati has done a terrific job in the draft, and the 2013 class is no exception with Tyler Eifert (first round) and Giovani Bernard (second round) becoming integral parts of a dangerous offense.

Cincinnati has a fairly complete (and young) team, so what do the Bengals need in the 2014 draft?

Todd McShay released his first 2014 mock draft Wednesday, and in doing so identified the biggest areas of need for the Bengals. Cincinnati needs help at strongside linebacker, defensive end, corner, middle linebacker, safety and offensive tackle.

Here's McShay's pick and analysis for the Bengals in Round 1.
