It's impossible to lock the New Orleans Saints into any one need with the 27th pick. They've always stuck to the best-available-player philosophy. And the good news is they don't have any one glaring need in their starting lineup that they must reach to fill.
However, there are many areas where the Saints could use an infusion of young talent, including cornerback, the offensive line, outside linebacker and receiver.
The Saints need depth at corner (who doesn't in today's NFL?), and they would love to find someone who can compete for a starting job opposite Keenan Lewis. Oklahoma State's Justin Gilbert and Florida's Marcus Roberson are two bigger corners currently projected in the mid-to-late first round.
The Saints appear to have found a young left tackle for the future in Terron Armstead. But they might need new starters at right tackle and center, depending on how free agency goes, as well as depth across the board. Notre Dame tackle Zack Martin, Arkansas center Travis Swanson and Baylor guard Cyril Richardson are among the possibilities.
