UPDATE: It appears there are a couple of dark-horse teams in the mix for DeSean Jackson's services.
"I'm told that two teams not identified publicly as having interest in DeSean Jackson are in deep negotiations with the former Eagles WR," tweeted ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder Monday morning.
The Detroit Lions probably aren't one of those teams, but during an appearance on ESPN's "Mike & Mike" Monday coach Jim Caldwell wouldn't rule out the notion of signing D-Jax.
“We haven’t discussed him,” Caldwell said. “I can say he’s a playmaker, a guy that can get it done. At this point in time, we have not had any discussions. In this business, you never say never.”
The Lions likely don't have the cap space to make it happen, anyway.
Read on for the buzz on some other teams that may be courting the free-agent wideout.
As DeSean Jackson tests the waters as an unrestricted free agent, following his release from the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Redskins will get the first chance to woo the wideout. The big question for them appears to be whether they can find a contract number that will work for both sides.
