Implications of Kaepernick's monster deal

If you haven't heard, Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers agreed Wednesday on a six-year extension that will keep him in the Bay Area through the 2020 season, a deal first reported by BayAreaSportsGuy.com and confirmed shortly thereafter by our own Adam Schefter.

A source tells Ian Rapoport of NFL.com that the new deal is worth up to $126 million with $60 million guaranteed -- mind-boggling numbers, to be sure -- and the type of contract that is sure to get the attention of a number of other quarterbacks around the league.
