Earlier today, ESPN writer Scott Brown reported that Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley said this about his wide receiver corps: "It's as deep a group as I've been around from top to bottom," Haley said near the end of offseason practices. "I think some guys that are pretty good football players probably won't make the team."
As Brown mentions, there were rumors that Pittsburgh might explore bringing Santonio Holmes back with Emmanuel Sanders now in Denver. And despite much conjecture that the Steelers would use a very high draft pick on a wide receiver, the first wideout they selected was Martavis Bryant in the fourth round.
So why the optimism?
