Worthy and Rodgers ailing

Aaron Rodgers announced on his ESPN Milwaukee show Tuesday that he will miss the Pro Bowl due to lingering ankle and knee injuries.

"I didn’t pass my physical. I don’t want to get into too much of the details," said Rodgers before adding: "My ankle has definitely been a problem.”

Jason Wilde, who hosted the show, tweeted later that Rodgers had received an injection for his knee. Although neither of Rodgers' injuries appear to be serious, the same can't be said for teammate Jerel Worthy, who underwent surgery on his left knee Tuesday.

"Packers defensive line coach Mike Trgovac said he didn't know the significance of the surgery or time line for recovery, but acknowledged it likely would mean Worthy will miss at least a portion of the team’s offseason program," said Weston Hodkiewicz of PackersNews.com.

"If the surgery is more severe, such as a torn anterior cruciate ligament, it likely would keep him out anywhere for nine-to-12 months."

We'll have to wait for more specific updates from the Packers, but it appears that the defensive lineman may not be ready for the start of the 2013 campaign.
