Last week, Green Bay Packers running backs coach Alex Van Pelt suggested that he wanted to limit rookie Eddie Lacy's workload for the long haul this season to keep him fresh. I was skeptical about such plans, because Lacy is clearly their best running back, which means they are probably going to have to lean on him often. Sure enough, Lacy rushed a season-high 29 times for 94 yards and a touchdown in Week 8. He also caught four passes for another 18 yards.
