Fantasy checkdown: The return of Hilton?

In the first two games after WR Reggie Wayne went down with a torn ACL, T.Y. Hilton exploded for a total of 251 yards and 3 TDs. In four games since then, though, he has failed to score or top 46 yards in a game. He bottomed out last week against the Cincinnati Bengals with seven yards on a pair of receptions.

Some of that decline can be placed on a difficult schedule, as the Tennessee Titans (twice) and Arizona Cardinals rank in the top four in limiting the fantasy production of opposing wideouts, while the Bengals rank 12th.

Things may open up for him over the final three weeks, though, as the Indianapolis Colts face the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars. The latter two teams rank in the bottom half against opposing wide receivers. And while the Texans are solid overall in that department, they have been vulnerable of late. Plus, Hilton torched them for 121 yards and three scores in that first game after Wayne was felled.

Futhermore, with the likes of Da'Rick Rogers and LaVon Brazill getting more comfortable, Hilton may see less defensive pressure down the stretch.

Look for Hilton to make an impact for fantasy teams when it matters most: in the semis and finals as the season winds down.
