Horton hears from who?

Ray Horton had hoped to grab one of the eight open head coaching jobs in the NFL, especially the one in Arizona, where he felt he had put in the time as the team's defensive coordinator. That did not come to pass, but he was welcomed with open arms in Cleveland.

Horton will join the staff of new hire Rob Chudzinski as the new Browns defensive coordinator. Horton had interviewed for the top spot with owner Jimmy Haslam, and will join Norv Turner on the newly-constructed staff.

Browns name Horton defensive coordinator

"Cleveland gets a coach who is extremely motivated. Horton, who was considered a top head coaching candidate in Arizona, reportedly had a heated exchange with new Cardinals general manager Steve Keim when he found out that Bruce Arians got the job. Horton felt like he deserved that job after paying his dues as an assistant."
