Flyers' interest in Halak

After missing out on goaltender Jonathan Bernier, whom the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired from the Los Angeles Kings earlier this week, the Philadelphia Flyers are apparently hoping Jaroslav Halak is the answer to their perpetual troubles in the net.

Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com reports that according to "an NHL source," the Flyers now have their sights set on trading for the St. Louis Blues backup and making him the starter in the City of Brotherly Love.

“The Flyers have been told it’s going to take a very good player, but it won’t take one of their top guys, which Philadelphia was worried about,” the source told Panaccio, who mentions Tim Thomas, Ray Emery, Jose Theodore and Roberto Luongo as alternative targets if a deal for Halak can't be reached.
