There are some who believe it's better for a team to get its "bad mojo" out of the way during the regular season in hopes of getting good vibes during the playoffs. We'll find out if that's the case for the 2013-14 Chicago Blackhawks, who will be without star Patrick Kane for the next three weeks.
Kane suffered a leg injury in the Blackhawks' 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues, a win that pulled the club within six points of the Central Division leaders. It's an unfortunate loss, as the team had just gotten Marian Hossa back, and is expected to get prospect Teuvo Teravainen into the mix soon. Coach Joel Quenneville and his staff might have a tough task finding the right Kane-less lineup, but if all goes well, he should be back for the postseason as the team begins its Stanley Cup defense.
