If it comes to that following tonight's home game against the New Jersey Devils and Monday's tilt at the Tampa Bay Lightning, general manager Paul Holmgren would presumably be the one wielding the ax for owner Ed Snider. But Panaccio believes Holmgren, and perhaps Snider himself, are as responsible for the team's malaise as the man behind the bench.
"The Flyers fictional belief that they could land all three big-time free agents last summer was laughable," Panaccio writes on the website hockeybuzz.com.
"Doesn't work like that, anymore. Most of the problems with this team can be traced to the club really kidding itself into believing Ryan Suter and Zach Parise would come here and that Nashville would never match Shea Weber after losing Suter.
