Isles could leave early (update)

UPDATE: Count NHL commissioner among those who want to see the New York Islanders playing at Brooklyn's Barclays Center before 2015.

"I'd like to see them in the newer building as soon as possible," Bettman told editors from the Associated Press on Thursday, according to Newsday's Steven Marcus.

But Bettman stopped short of saying that the team would try to get out of its lease at Nassau Coliseum, which expires after the 2014-15 season.

"I know the Islanders are prepared to fulfill their obligations under their burdensome lease. [But] if Nassau County was inclined to let them go earlier, I know they would go."
