After reportedly interviewing upwards of 10 candidates for the position, the Buffalo Sabres have hired a new general manager: Tim Murray, who has been the assistant GM of the Ottawa Senators since 2007.

Murray will lord over the Sabres' rebuilding project, inheriting a bounty of draft picks and young prospects from predecessor Darcy Regier. In addition, he's tasked with deciding what the team will do with valuable veterans Ryan Miller and Steve Ott: Trade them ahead of the deadline for more young players or picks, or re-sign them to help teach all the youngsters the NHL game? He'll also have to determine what to do with fellow impending UFA Matt Moulson, who the team brought over earlier this season.
