Sens' asking price for Bishop

Even if Miikka Kiprusoff returns quickly from what he's calling a "short-term" lower-body injury, the veteran goalie's health scare may prompt the Calgary Flames to start thinking about acquiring a long-term replacement for their 36-year-old backstop.

It's a search that could lead them to the Ottawa Senators' Ben Bishop, suggested the Calgary Sun's Eric Francis earlier this week.

The promising young Bishop is behind Craig Anderson and Robin Lehner on the Senators' depth chart, which makes the Sens "perhaps the most obvious trade partner" for the Flames, according to Francis.

But Bishop wouldn't come cheap. Word is Ottawa is asking for a second round pick in return for the gigantic (6'7") 26-year-old, a price that could be a little to rich for Calgary GM Jay Feaster.
