Top five recruiting jobs: SEC

The Southeastern Conference features many of the top recruiting jobs in college football in the current landscape. The reasons are multiple, with the No. 1 fact being that the Southeast region is by far the most talented in the country. The conference as a whole has terrific facilities in the recruiting arms race of today’s college football world, and the SEC Network is set to launch in August, bolstering an already lucrative TV deal.

All of that adds up to the SEC being the cream of the crop in recruiting. A look at the top five recruiting jobs in the conference:

1. Florida

Proximity to out-of-state talent: Florida not only is in the most talented state in the country but also sits in Central Florida, roughly five hours from the Atlanta area, with talent both east and west of Interstate 75 all the way up through South Georgia into Atlanta. The states of Florida and Georgia combined to produce 60 NFL draft picks in 2014, one more than California and Texas combined while having less than half the combined population. Gainesville is also less than 500 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina, less than 400 miles from Mobile, Alabama, and just over 500 miles from New Orleans.
