Texas vs. Oklahoma

Texas and Oklahoma appear headed for a hard-hitting, low-scoring game in this year's edition of the Red River Rivalry

Texas offense vs. Oklahoma defense
• Judging by last year's game tape, Oklahoma has little respect for the Longhorns' vertical passing attack. Defensive coordinator Brent Venables employed man-free coverage or matchup zone a vast majority of the time and his cornerbacks didn't seem too worried about giving a cushion. Garrett Gilbert throws a stronger deep ball than Colt McCoy but don't expect the Sooners' approach to change much this time around. Texas is still conservative with its passing attack because coordinator Greg Davis is breaking in a young quarterback behind a leaky offensive line. Last week, for example, Gilbert completed his first nine attempts but for only 51 yards. Oklahoma would be crazy not to keep the heat on Gilbert and force him to win the game with his arm.
