SMU Mustangs-Temple Owls pushed to Nov. 7, AAC says

The SMU-Temple game scheduled for Thursday now will take place Nov. 7, the American Athletic Conference said Friday.

The league made the schedule adjustment to "allow for the best chance of its being played in its scheduled week." The teams will kick off at noon ET at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, and the game will air on ESPN+.

Temple is still scheduled to play Saturday at Tulane, while No. 22 SMU will host Navy.

"We were undermanned going into this week but had enough to play, but there was concern if we suffered more injuries, especially to [one position]," Temple spokesman Larry Dougherty told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "And there is always the possibility of losing players if they have positive [COVID-19] tests when we return. The league wanted to make sure we got the whole week and thought the best chance was if the game was moved a few days."
