Nick Saban and Alabama won the game, however they lost serious ground in the war on modern offense. We've been cautioning all offseason that 2013 Crimson Tide lack the intangibles to win even the SEC title, but were certainly among those who believed Alabama would handle the Aggies by multiple touchdowns. Texas A&M's backdoor cover and four more missteps left us 5-5 ATS on the week, 15-15 on the season.

Read on to find out if we resume our regularly scheduled fading of the Crimson Tide, and also for our first look at several teams that play an ongoing role in our plan of attack.

West Virginia Mountaineers at Maryland Terrapins (-4.5 in Baltimore)

ATS pick: Maryland

We've consistently advocated fading West Virginia since the Mountaineers entered the Big 12/Oliver Luck/Dana Holgorsen era. The Mountaineers are 5-10 ATS over their past 15 games, and there's no reason to ease off the gas in this matchup with a solid Maryland team that will more than double its win total from a year ago.
