Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin told ESPN's Paul Carcaterra at halftime that quarterback Khalil Tate suffered a first-half ankle injury and it has "completely changed" the Wildcats' offensive game plan as Tate continues to play through it. That makes it difficult for Arizona, trailing Houston 31-0.

Houston went to its backup quarterback, Tennessee transfer Quinten Dormady, in the second quarter and leads Arizona 31-0 at half. In 2017, only one FBS team came back from a 31-point deficit to win: UCLA vs, coincidentally, Kevin Sumlin-led Texas A&M.
