Nowooola Awopetu returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and T.D. Ayo-Durojaiye capped a rally with a 20-yard scoring run midway through the fourth quarter to lead Villanova to a 35-28 victory over Richmond on Saturday.

Davis Cheek threw a career-high five touchdown passes to five different receivers, Shamari Wingard returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score and Elon beat Richmond 42-20 on Saturday in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.

Giants take Richmond QB Lauletta in 4th

After passing on a quarterback in the first round, the Giants selected Richmond signal-caller Kyle Lauletta in the fourth round.

Delaware is hiring Richmond's Danny Rocco as its next coach, a source tells ESPN. He will receive a five-year contract at Delaware. Rocco informed Richmond today of his departure. Rocco is 43-21 in five seasons at Richmond and 90-41 overall as a head coach. He replaces Dave Brock, fired in October. Rocco is a Pennsylvania native who has coached at Virginia, Maryland, Texas and Boston College, among other college spots, as well as with the New York Jets in 2000.
