Plus, former Premiere League and Trinidad & Tobago National Team Goalie and current ESPN Soccer Analyst, Shaka Hislop addresses the response that soccer has had to the death of George Floyd and the push for social justice. And, Kevin Blackistone, the co-producer of an upcoming film about the Washington Redskins and the push to change their name, explains why he has long been an opponent of the Redskins name. Finally, Dale Lindsey, the head football coach at the University of San Diego, addresses the pandemic’s effect on a potential college football especially on him, as the country’s oldest Division-I football coach at age 77.


Defense lifts Northern Iowa by San Diego 17-3 in FCS opener

Brawntae Wells returned an interception for a touchdown early in the first quarter, Christian Jegen sealed the game with a pick late in the fourth quarter and Northern Iowa defeated San Diego 17-3 in the first round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday.

Jolo Binda Jr. rushed for 147 yards and scored four touchdowns, tying a school record, as San Diego led from the start, defeating Jacksonville 47-28 on Saturday to win a 37th consecutive conference game.


San Diego trounces Drake 49-7 in battle of unbeatens

Joseph Binda Jr. ran for three touchdowns, Terrence Smith ran for two more and San Diego cashed in on turnovers to beat Drake 49-7 on Saturday to become the Pioneer Football League's remaining undefeated team.


Sinnett throws 5 TD passes, San Diego streak hits 31 games

Reid Sinnett threw five touchdown passes, Michael Bandy caught two, including the tie-breaker, as San Diego held Davidson scoreless in the second half while pushing its conference win streak to 31 games with a 37-17 victory on Saturday.


San Diego opens Pioneer title defense, wallops Marist 31-7

Reid Sinnett threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns and San Diego's defense collected four interceptions as the Toreros opened the defense of their Pioneer League championship by throttling Marist, 31-7 on Saturday afternoon.

SOURCES: Michigan is expected to hire University of San Diego offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand as an offensive analyst. Engstrand has been one of the top young play-callers in the FCS, as San Diego is 38-10 during his four years as OC. He started his coaching career at USD under current Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who led the Toreros from 2004 to 2006.
