With national signing day (Feb. 1) around the corner, here is a breakdown of how things are looking for Notre Dame.
Overview: Fighting Irish fans were starting to get a little worried back on Jan. 15 after a three-week span in which three-star OT Taylor Decker (Vandalia, Ohio/Butler) flipped to Ohio State, ESPNU 150 prospect Ronald Darby (Oxon Hill, Md./Potomac) decommitted and ESPNU 150 quarterback Gunner Kiel (Columbus, Ind./Columbus East) picked LSU. However, the Irish's luck started to change when Kiel's mind changed again. Instead of enrolling early at LSU, Kiel showed up to classes at Notre Dame on Jan. 16. Kiel will have a pair of stud receivers to throw to in ESPNU 150 wideouts Deontay Greenberry (Fresno, Calif./Washington Union) and Justin Ferguson (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Flanagan). The Irish also have one of the best defensive tackle tandems in ESPNU 150 lineman Jarron Jones (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas) and early enrollee Sheldon Day (Indianapolis/Warren Central).
