Here are five players to watch in Sunday's Champaign (Ill.) Nike Football Training Camp.
Alec James (Brookfield, Wisc./Brookfield Central)
Playing in Wisconsin, James is not on many radars. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive end should be, though. Clemson, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin have all offered and are his four leaders. Because he's a pure speed rusher, it will be interesting to see how James does in one-on-one drills against bigger linemen if he cannot line up too wide.
Brandon Hines (Mequon, Wis./Homestead)
One of the region's top defensive tackles in the Class of 2012, Hines is also one of the strongest. In March, Hines said he was benching 305 pounds "easy." On Sunday, Hines will go against a number of other linemen who also can bench 305 pounds without breaking much of a sweat. Though Hines does not have an offer, a host of Big Ten programs checked in on him during the spring evaluation period. He should have his first offer soon, as he makes the rounds at a host of camps and can show what he can do without the club he was forced to play with his sophomore season.
