Committing early brings more stress

A lot can happen in the span of a few months. Seasons can change and so can people.

Under the backdrop of a sweltering summer day last June, the No. 1 running back in Alabama set half the state ablaze and gave his verbal commitment to Auburn. T.J. Yeldon, the most sought-after ball carrier in the Black Belt, was set to roam the Plains.

And then he wasn't. Some six months later, Auburn lost its offensive coordinator, and with him, one of Yeldon's closest advisors on staff. A few weeks later, Yeldon set fire to the other half of his home state and flipped his allegiance to the Crimson Tide.
