Bama in heart of FSU commit

DOTHAN, Ala. -- The scripted 'A' tattooed on Marquez White's left shoulder is unmistakable. It would make sense if the Dothan, Ala., native was planning to play for the University of Alabama next year -- but he's committed to Florida State.

White grew up in a family full of Crimson Tide fans. His grandfather still wears a houndstooth hat, and UA memorabilia hangs all over his walls. Three of his cousins played for legendary coach Paul 'Bear' Bryant at Alabama, including defensive lineman Curtis McGriff, who played on the 1978 and '79 national championship teams.

Everybody assumed White would eventually earn a scholarship offer from the Tide, sign his letter of intent and follow his family's legacy to Tuscaloosa.
