GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- There wasn't anything unusual about the group of Florida football players who were spending time before a recent practice catching passes from the automated Jugs machine.
Until you noticed that one of the players was considerably bigger than the others.
It was 6-foot, 233-pound linebacker Jelani Jenkins. With UF's main emphasis this spring on creating turnovers, Jenkins is putting in some much-needed work on his hands. The Gators dropped 15 potential interceptions in 2011, and Jenkins topped the list with six drops.
