Bulldogs look to jucos for O-line help

Three offensive linemen -- John Theus, Chester Brown and Greg Pyke -- have made commitments to Georgia so far, but the Bulldogs will need more help than that if they want to replace senior starters Ben Jones, Cordy Glenn and Justin Anderson. With no returning seniors on the roster, as many as three junior college offensive linemen could be targeted for 2012.

Sequoias (Calif.) offensive tackle Claudyson Calixte, 6-6, 320 pounds, has the ideal size most schools are looking for at tackle. Only two programs, Western Michigan and Marshall, have offered so far, but several major conference schools have been inquiring about his services including Georgia, Arizona State and Ole Miss.

Georgia offensive line coach Will Friend called Calixte recently and told him he remembered him from his time at UAB, and noticed the strides he has made in flexibility, weight and pad level.

"Coach Friend remembered my high school highlight and my name, said I improved from then, and he wanted to see me continue that improvement," Calixte said. "He said he might come to see me play soon. UGA would be a big-time offer. It is an SEC school that is close to home."
