The Michigan coaching staff made it apparent that defense was the priority on the recruiting trail. With 13 of the 22 commitments for 2012 being defensive prospects, the coaches weren't playing around.
Of those 13 commitments, Michigan managed to secure four linebackers, including Joe Bolden (Cincinnati/Colerain). Bolden chose Michigan over 16 other programs, including Tennessee, Stanford, Boston College, Penn State and Iowa.
When Bolden made his commitment to Michigan he said, "God told me in more than one way that Michigan was my home for the next four years."
