2012 CB commit jumped quickly

The rule at Crete-Monee High School in Crete, Ill., is once you have committed to a college program your recruitment is over. The coaching staff, led by head coach Jerry Verde, believes that allowing his football players to decommit once they have made their decision would hurt everyone's credibility.

"We had a young man decommit from Wyoming at the last minute, and it still doesn't taste right," Verde said. "That will kill recruiting at your school when the recruiting coaches no longer trust you."

So when starting defensive back Anthony Standifer was ready to make his commitment to Michigan, Standifer knew it had to be the right place before making it known to the coaching staff.
