ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- This was the Michigan coaching staff's first full recruiting class, but oddly enough their approach hasn't changed much. From their time at Ball State and San Diego State, the approach and philosophy has stayed the same.
The coaching staff has a clear and consistent message when it comes to recruiting: Find high-character guys who want to compete, and reassure families that they care not just about football but about the recruits as young men.
"For us it didn't change. When you're used to turning over every rock and looking under every leaf to make sure you're covering everything you can, that's the same thing here," recruiting coordinator Jeff Hecklinski said. "We've been in the process for the past two-plus days of watching film on all the 2013 kids, and people say are you going to rest now? No, tomorrow we're coming in and flipping the lights off, turning the film on and finish up evaluating the 2013 prospects."
